Hello fellow Canadians! Trading futures in Canada is difficult. There aren’t nearly as many brokers in Canada as in the US. The margins are usually super high. The process to qualify for an account is difficult. Basically, there’s a lot of road blocks.
Luckily, the various funded trader evaluation companies all accept Canadians and the funding process won’t be a hurdle at all. I’m currently funded by 5 firms! You can read all about my Recommended Online Futures Funding Companies here.
If you do want to open a traditional brokerage account, you can see my list of recommendations here: Futures Brokers in Canada.
Below are just my Top Recommended Funded Futures Companies which accept Canadians.
Apex Trader Funding
Apex Trader Funding has quickly become a favorite. I’m funded with 2 $300K accounts. No scaling, affordable pricing, big accounts, no scaling both during evaluation and funded, a 90/10 split, the list goes on. I highly recommend Apex Trader Funding.

TradeDay
TradeDay has some fantastic rules, and was started by 2 former pit traders with decades of experience. If you want a very professionally run company with lots of interaction in their various trading communities, TradeDay might be for you.

Take Profit Trader
So while Take Profit Trader is one of my very top recommended companies overall, it isn’t for Canadians. Unfortunately their brokerage does not accept Canadians, so while you can take the evaluation with Take Profit Trader, AND you can move to the Pro Sim account where you can cash out the first $5,000, after that you won’t be able to move to a full funded account (as of Oct 2023 this is current). Hopefully this will change in the future.

Conclusion
There are some great opportunities for Canadians out there to trade futures. I highly recommend looking into becoming a funded futures trader with one, or many, of the firms above. It’s worked out great for myself. You can follow my journey through the various firms on my YouTube channel, and read my Reviews of Funded Futures Programs here.

Risk Disclosure:
Futures and forex trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing ones’ financial security or life style. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
Hypothetical Performance Disclosure:
Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight.
In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. for example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all which can adversely affect trading results.
