TradeDay Futures Evaluation – How It Works

tradeday

TradeDay is a fantastic option for people looking to get evaluated to trade futures in a funded live account. Started by two former traders with decades of experience they have made the rules simple to follow with their 1 step evaluation process.

TradeDay is looking to build long term relationships with futures traders, and I highly recommend them.

TradeDay Funded Futures Trader Evaluation Process

TradeDay like all of the funded futures trader evaluation programs have an evaluation with a few rules in place. If you can reach the profit target and not violate any of the rules, you will then move to a fully funded live account. The steps to be evaluated are below.

Choose Your Account Size and Sign Up

TradeDay currently has multiple available options:

  • $10K – 1 contract – $1,000 profit goal
  • $25K – 2 contracts – $1,500 profit goal
  • $50K – 5 contracts – $2,500 profit goal
  • $100K – 10 contracts – $5,000 profit goal
  • $150K – 15 contracts – $8,500 profit goal
  • $250K – 25 contracts – $12,000 profit goal

When you pass you will be funded for the same amount as the evaluation. You can review the profit targets, drawdowns, max contracts and more on the TradeDay site.

Reach the Objectives

The objectives are fairly simple:

  • Trade at least 7 days – they want to see you can trade well over time
  • Reach the profit goals – these vary by account size (list above)
  • Follow the consistency rule – you can not make more than 30% of your total profit in one day

Don’t Break Any Rules

The rules also are fairly simple. The key is to use proper trading to stay within the guide lines.

  • Do not hit the maximum overall loss limit
  • Do not exceed the maximum contracts you are allowed to trade
  • Only trade permitted products
  • Close all positions at least 10 minutes before the close of the market

If you do break a rule, you can reset your evaluation and start fresh. Note that this starts your account back to square one, but does not reset your billing period.

Once Complete, Congratulations! You Passed!

Once you trade the 7 days and meet the goals, don’t break any rules, you will be moved into a fully live funded account. The process can take a few days and there is some paperwork involved, but soon enough you’ll be trading live capital in the real markets (not sim like some companies).

Risk Disclosure:

Futures and forex trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing ones’ financial security or life style. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.

Hypothetical Performance Disclosure:

Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight.

In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. for example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all which can adversely affect trading results.
